James Daniels
Lighting Cameraman/ DOP
Jamie has been a freelance lighting cameraman/DOP for many years, having graduated from Bournemouth, ascended through the ranks and gained a wealth of experience and solid technical knowledge.
His ability to be flexible is unsurpassed, as he is equally at home shooting on any tape format, 16mm/35mm or even digital stills, and across all programme genres. He is good with people, nice to work with, creative and reliable. Directors enjoy working with him; Editors love him. He has a particular ability to be innovative, particularly when it comes to lighting.
Jamie has worked on innumerable documentaries and many international film productions. He was a lighting cameraman on the Oscar Nominated Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride, the cult animated feature film, the first of its kind to be shot on 35mm Digital stills.
In his vast array of experience, Jamie has worked with motion control (Mark Roberts) and has a working knowledge of the Kuper system; is steadicam trained, has used most camera mounts, dollies and cranes; and has shot in helis, hot air balloons, planes, boats, cars, trains, you name it, with all shapes and sizes of crews.
All in all, Jamie is one of those really good guys to have around.
Based out of Evesham or Cardiff.
