Robin Smith
Natural History / Documentary Lighting Cameraman
Robin is an award winning lighting cameraman, with a background in mainly natural history, adventure and science/history based documentaries. His work to date has taken him around the world filming in locations as diverse as the Siberian Arctic, Kalahari Desert and the forests of Papua New Guinea.
He has a wealth of experience working with all broadcast formats including High Definition and Film on projects ranging from observational documentary to feature films, and has recently attended the UK's first RED approved training course.
Robin is equally at home as part of a team or operating as a self-shooting director.
Prior to embarking upon his career as a cameraman, Robin spent twelve years teaching adventure sports in a number of outdoor centres around the world. This allowed him to gain commercially recognised qualification in climbing/mountaineering, canoeing, rafting, sailing, power boating and snow skiing, further adding to his effectiveness whilst operating in extreme environments.
Robin also holds a BSc Hons Degree in Biological Imaging
