Toby Strong

Toby is an experienced lighting, documentary and specialist cameraman.  He has worked extensively on documentaries and Natural History. He also works as a director cameraman.

Toby is as experienced working in documentaries as with presenters, and he has filmed with a wide range of celebrities ….Billy Connolly, Jonathon Scott, Sir David Attenborough, Julie Walters…..

He has an acute awareness as a filmmaker which he brings to his camerawork. His aesthetic and sensitivity to the storey and to those around him allow him capture a real intimacy and mood.

Toby has worked during the course of his career in a huge range of environments and countries, and is as comfortable with a big lighting set up as working fast and instinctively on the shoulder in the thick of an event.

Toby Strong is not only one of the finest cameramen I have ever come across, he is also the most versatile. Whether its macro footage of reflections in a dew drop dangling from a spider's web; glorious landscapes; brilliantly filmed synch; establishers or intimate storytelling, his range is quite extraordinary.

 Moreover, Toby has an incredibly intelligent editorial mind and he constantly delivers material which reflects well on the brief. This is particularly critical on synch shoots and in my view, Toby is the cameraman I most trust in my career so far to capture the essence of a story through his photography.

Finally - on a personal level - I find Toby to be a very inspirational colleague who always goes the extra mile, assists junior members of staff and is sensitive and intuitive about team dynamics.
