Martin
has been editing films for television over the past 25 years. He worked
for the BBC from 1978 and has been freelance since 1990. In addition to
his television work he has recently edited two films for cinema
release.
Although
he is normally known for his work on many of the big ‘blue chip’ series
made by the BBC natural History Unit, he has often worked with
independent producers and production companies, both in this country
and abroad, on a diverse range of challenging films. He has also been
involved in the pre-production development of several of these projects.
Martin
has received several editing awards from international festivals
including two 'best editing' awards from the Missoula Film Festival and
a Royal Television Society award for editing. He has been nominated for
a Primetime EMMY award and five times nominated for BAFTA awards.
