Ian Bown


With over two decades of experience in sound editing and design for film and televison, Ian is BAFTA nominated and highly skilled member of our  Craft team.

Ian is an diligent listener and communticater.  He’ll quickly access your audio needs and give you  ideas about how to fulfill your sound assperations.  He is equally at home working individually on a quick turn around project, as he is to heading up a craft team on a feature film.

Discovering and creating new sounds really excites Ian. Dreaming up new ways to bring tension to a scene with sound design is one of his great strengths.

In addition to this he is a highly respected dialogue and ADR editor and has supervised editoial teams on many successful TV series.

He has an impressive Natural History CV which includes many blue chip series and one-off documentaries for broadcasters such as Animal Planet, National Geographic, Netflix and the BBC.

Outisde of work Ian is a member of  a road cycling club and an avid (if ageing ) snowboarder. He is a RFU level 2 accredited rugby coach and co coaches at his local rugby club.
