Mark Thurkettle

OFFLINE EDITOR

Mark began editing for broadcast television at Partridge films. Joining in 1997, as an assistant editor, he quickly moved into cutting programmes for successful children’s and magazine Natural History series. During this time, Mark also cut two short dramas and one feature length drama.

After going freelance in 2001, Mark helped to shape the award-winning Built for the Kill series at Granada, for Discovery Channel. This fast paced, youth orientated programme, based on archive material helped develop his ability to craft strong stories from the barest of raw materials. Numerous Natural History projects followed, establishing his reputation as a skillful and inventive editor.

Mark has proven his flexibility in a range of genres including Travel, Social History and more recently Sport. He looks forward to expanding his range further, perhaps with shows which reflect his personal interests in current affairs, history, and music.

Mark is as proficient on Final Cut Pro as he is on Avid (in all its guises).
