Paul Baker
SOUND RECORDIST
Paul has been a freelance sound recordist for over 20 years and during this time has worked for all the major broadcasters and independent producers. He works on observational documentaries, drama documentaries, educational programmes, the Arts, television commercials and corporate content.
Paul has worked extensively on programmes with challenging content and is conscious of the needs of both contributors and the production team. When working on people orientated documentaries he is skilled at putting contributors at ease. Paul holds a current Enhanced DBS certificate as required when working in schools and with children and vulnerable adults. He is experienced in working in sensitive environments including hospitals, operating theatres, prisons and young offender institutions.
Paul is equally at home in the business world when working with corporate clients on information and promotional work and when filming with crew, production and talent in the focused pressure of a television commercial.
Paul works with all formats from the Canon 5D to the Arri Alexa, Amira, Mini, C300 and Sony FS7
Paul aims to be helpful to the camera operator and production in an era of budget and time constraints offering camera assisting with a working knowledge of jib arms, smaller lighting rigs and dollies. He owns his own equipment.
Paul lives in Bristol and has a London base, a clean driving license and a people carrier.
