Piers Leigh is a London and Bristol based Lighting Cameraman / DOP/ with over 20-years experience whose work regularly takes him all over the world, with shoots in over 70 countries, from the Arctic to the Antarctic, from the Sahara to the Himalayas.
Piers is often asked to film in demanding and extreme conditions including deserts, mountains, jungles, open ocean and ice-waterfalls. He is confident shooting from helicopters and planes with mini-cams and underwater rigs.
Piers has worked as a DoP drama, docu-drama, short films, idents, trails and viral campaigns as well as high-end documentaries for both UK and US broadcasters, with clients including Netflix, Amazon Prime, BBC, National Geographic and Discovery among others. He has filmed with many of the major figures in television, including David Attenborough and Stephen Hawking.
In addition, Piers is an accomplished camera and Steadicam operator working for other DoPs. He has experience with remote heads and operate his own Steadicam. Piers is an Associate Member of the Association of Camera Operators, joining in 2021. As an operator, he draws on the breadth of experience and skills he has gained working across many different formats including documentary, drama, commercials and promos. I enjoy collaborating as part of a larger team, using my experience and skills to deliver the vision of the DoP and Director.
